The TLC
Meter is ideal for profiling conductivity and temperature in wells and
open water. It displays accurate measurements of conductivity and
temperature on a convenient LCD display that rotates for ease of
reading.
Conductivity measurements are read from 0-80,000 µS/cm with readings giving accuracy of 5% of reading or 100 µS
(which ever is greater).
Water level and probe depth measurements are read off the Solinst durable PVDF flat tape, which is accurately laser
marked every 1/100 ft or each millimeter

Rugged PVDF Flat Tape
The high quality PVDF flat tape reels smoothly, remains flexible and hangs straight in the well, irrespective of temperature. The flat tape is mounted on a sturdy, well-balanced Solinst reel.
Stranded stainless steel conductors and copper coated steel conductors resist corrosion, provide strength and are nonstretch.
They make the tape easy to repair and splice. The dogbone design reduces adherence to wet surfaces.
Water Conductivity Measurements
The TLC Meter uses a ‘smart’ conductivity sensor with platinum electrodes to measure conductivity. The conductivity is displayed on the rotating screen along with the associated temperature measurement. The ‘smart probe’ displays conductivity that has been standardized to 25°C, i.e. Specific Conductance (displayed as EC). The conductance temperature coefficient is 2.0% per °C.

Water Level & Depth Measurements
When the zero point of the probe enters water, an electric circuit is completed, briefly activating a buzzer and blanking out the screen for about 1 second. The depth to water is then read off the tape. When the TLC Meter is withdrawn from the water, a short buzz gives a warning that the probe is now out of water.
Water Temperature Measurements
The TLC Meter operates in a range from -15ºC to +50ºC (23ºF to 122ºF). You may choose to have the readings displayed
on the LCD screen in ºC or ºF. Accuracy is +/- 0.2°C in Celsius, or +/- 0.4°F in Fahrenheit. The ‘smart’ TLC probe automatically adjusts the measured conductivity values to display as specific conductance standardized to 25ºC.

For measuring the depth to water in wells, boreholes, standpipes, and tanks, Model 101 Water Level Meters are the industry standard for portable hand operated meters. They are sturdy, easy to use and read accurately to 1/100 ft. or each millimeter.
The Model 101 P7
Water Level Meter features a pressure-proof probe rated to 500 psi
and laser marked PVDF tape. The Model 101 P2 Water Level Meter features
an easy-to-repair probe and heat embossed polyethylene tape.
Operating Principles
Model 101 Water Level Meters use corrosion proof stainless steel
probes attached to permanently marked flat tape, fitted on a
well-balanced reel. They are powered by a standard 9 volt battery.
The probes incorporate an insulating gap between electrodes. When
contact is made with water, the circuit is completed, activating a loud
buzzer and a light. The water level is then determined by taking a
reading directly from the tape at the top of the well casing or
borehole.
A sensitivity control allows the buzzer to be turned off while in
cascading water, and ensures a clear signal in both high and low
conductivity conditions.
Reels
With a stand-alone design, convenient carrying handle, and sturdy probe holder, the standard reels are ergonomically
designed for ease of use. They are robust and smooth running.
The battery is housed in a convenient drawer in the front of the reel, allowing quick replacement.
P7 Probe
The P7 Probe is submersible up to 1000 ft. (300 m), ideal for measuring total well depth. The sensor at the tip of the
probe provides consistent measurements with almost zero displacement.
PVDF Laser Marked Tape
The Model 101 P7 Water Level Meter uses extremely durable, PVDF flat tape, traceable to NIST and EU measurement
standards. Each tape conductor contains 13 strands of stainless
steel, and 6 strands of copper-coated steel, making the tape non-stretch
and high in tensile strength and electrical efficiency.
P2 Probe
The P2 Probe is shielded in design to reduce or eliminate false
readings in cascading water. The probe consists of a stainless steel
body with a neoprene heat shrink seal. It is not suitable for
submergence to any significant depth. Its simple design makes it easy to
repair.
Polyethylene Tape
The Model 101 P2 Water Level Meter uses high quality polyethylene
tape that reels smoothly, remains flexible and hangs straight in the
well. Heat embossed marking each millimeter or 1/100 ft. allow accurate
readings. The 3/8" (10 mm) wide tapes come in lengths up to 1000 ft.
(300 m).

Tape Guide/Datum
A tape guide is provided with each Meter. It protects the tape from
damage on rough edges of well casing and ensures easy, consistent

Solinst Oil/Water Interface Meters give clear and accurate measurements of product level and thickness in wells and tanks.
Determination of both light (floating) non-aqueous phase liquids (LNAPL) and dense (sinking) non-aqueous phase liquids (DNAPL) is quick and easy. The factory-sealed probe is pressure proof (up to 500 psi) and tapes are available in a range of lengths from 100 - 1000 ft (30 - 300 m).
The 5/8" (16 mm) diameter probe allows easy access through tight
spaces and into narrow wells. The probe is designed for use in various

Hazardous Locations Use
Model 122 Interface Meters have been approved for use in explosive environments. They are suitable for use in hazardous locations Class I, Div 1, Groups C&D based on standards of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).
The Model 122 Interface Meter with laser marked PVDF tape is now ATEX certified under directive 94/9/EC, as II 3 G Ex ic IIB T4 Gc.
Operating Principles
Product (Non-conductive liquid) = Steady light and tone Water (Conductive liquid) = Intermittent light and tone To detect liquids, Solinst Interface Meters use an infra-red beam and detector. When the probe enters a liquid the beam is refracted away from the detector which activates an audible tone and light.
If the liquid is a non-conductive oil/product the signals are steady. If the liquid is water (conductive liquid greater than 20 µS/cm), the conductivity of the water completes a conductivity circuit. This overrides the infra-red circuit, and the tone and light are intermittent.
The 122 Interface Meter sensor provides an accuracy as good as 1/200 ft or 1.0 mm. The high accuracy enables the sensor to detect the slightest sheen of oil on the surface of the water.

The Solinst Model 102 Water Level Meter is designed to measure
groundwater levels, especially in small diameter tubes and piezometers
or where a flexible cable is needed to snake past an in-well pump.
Operating Principles
The Model 102 Water Level Meter uses a choice of two small diameter probe designs, attached to a narrow coaxial cable,
fitted on a sturdy ergonomically designed reel. A standard 9 volt battery, housed in an easy-access battery drawer, powers the Water Level Meter.
When the probe enters water the electrical circuit is completed, sending a signal back to the reel where a light and clearly
audible buzzer are activated. The water level is then determined by taking a reading directly from the cable at the top of the well casing or borehole.
A sensitivity control allows the buzzer to be scaled back or turned off while in cascading water, and ensures a clear signal in both high and low conductivity conditions.
Probes
P1 1/4" dia. x 1.5" long (6.4 mm x 38 mm) stainless steel with 12 weights, weighing 2.5 oz (70 g). It is ideal for accessing
narrow diameters.

installation of monitoring wells. The Tag Line also provides a simple method to measure the depth to the bottom of a well.
The Tag Line is perfect for use when installing Solinst Model 403
CMT Multilevel Systems, as you can easily measure the depth to the top

Laser Marked Cable

The Solinst Model 101B Water Level Meter is designed to be an

Water Level Meter Operating Principles
The Model 101B Water Level Meter uses a solid stainless
steel probe, connected to durable polyethylene flat tape. A standard 9
volt battery, housed inside the reel hub, powers the Water Level Meter.
The electronics are coated for water resistance.
When the probe enters water, the electrical circuit is completed, sending a signal back to the reel where a light and
